Each voice is unique in that it is a direct representation of the individual.
Hey, I'm Travis
I am the founder of Travis Rivera Studios, a vocal coaching studio located in Long Island, New York.
I discovered this work after years of dissatisfaction with the vocal coaching industry and the lack of “fact-based” contemporary voice training. I always had this knowing that there was so much more to singing than just good training. I decided to venture out beyond the traditions of higher education and seek some worthwhile answers. It wasn’t until many years later that I realized it wasn’t in the knowledge of how to sing— although that is extremely helpful, it was in the truth of the person and their authenticity.
The music industry and vocal coaching world is all about quick and almost meaningless results. I’ve seen videos like, “Learn to riff in 12 days” “Build a better singing voice with three easy steps” and experienced when a musician’s management wants a new “sound”, and they have three months to figure it out. What’s lacking here isn’t good training or musicianship, it’s the deep connection to our authentic self. I have witnessed when a singer connects to their Authentic Self; their voice begins to click into place, the training begins to work and their sound begins to emerge. I have experienced this exact thing in my career - running after things that are worthless when I’m not being my True Self.
After many years of this build up, I began to have anxiety attacks met with extreme panic. I would walk into the studio and have to run out. This was the beginning of my personal transformation; this challenging time was propelling me forward into the work that I now find to be of huge value to anyone who is ready to answer the call. After leaving my cushy job, I found myself looking at starting my own studio, something I dreamed of for years. I didn’t know anything about business or how to find clients but with time and a tremendous amount of trust, it all began to work out.
As I began to build what is now Travis Rivera Studios, I found myself attracting inner healing work, specifically work for performers. The performing arts has extremely damaging demands and after years of experiencing the highs and lows, I began to seek alternative training to enhance well-being. Through somatic practices such as Alexander Technique, Yoga, Breath-work and Transformational Coaching, there was an inner shifting happening, a healing and the love for both music and myself were coming back to the surface. I began to attract clients from all over the country. They were seeking more, something deeper, it was as if they weren’t satisfied with the status quo. They were seeking the only thing that was missing: authenticity.
What does it take for me to be Authentic?
It starts with desire for change, which leads to the quest of transformation that ends with the emergence of your true nature. It’s natural for a caterpillar to immerse itself in a safe space, allowing all things moving past to fade away until its true and final form takes flight. If you feel you’ve been on this journey and are seeking coaching, this might just be the place for you.
I’d invite you to take a moment and ask yourself, is this what I need? If the answer is yes, please reach out to me or schedule a free consultation. I’d like to hear from you and see if this is indeed a match for you.
Are you ready to explore something deeper, something real?
If you're ready to take the dive it's time to have a conversation.
